The male horizontal thread connects with the water supply, and the diverter's direction rotates directly to the female thread end, so they are in parallel. Then the water flow to the flushing tank, and the another outlet (which the valve to the vertical direction with female thread) is closed. When I rotate the valve to the vertical direction (the direction of the shower), then the water is diverted to the shower, and the end of the water supply with female thread is closed, and the water only from the end with male thread connected flushing tank flows to the shower.
