Hydrogen Chloride gas(HCL) is a severe corrosive media if the air is moist. And when catalyst is added into the media, it will be both corrosive and abrasive. Common valve materials such as stainless steel or plastics are not suitable for such severe service.
Zirconia ceramics has excellent performance in both corrosive and abrasive applications due to its hardness and corrosion resistance.
By now, the servicing life of Foyo's ceramic full lined ball valves have been more than two and half years, it is about three times than that of the valves they used before.
